Benefits of NGS for Precision Oncology

Next-generation sequencing (NGS) offers deep understandings in precision oncology to empower more personalized treatment options. Learn how NGS is being used in oncology to enable biomarker profiling to understand what drives cancer and its mutations. See how NGS can streamline cancer profiling and improve patient outcomes.

Next-generation Sequencing in Oncology

Before the existence of next-generation sequencing technologies, cancer treatment therapies were implemented based on cancer type alone. NGS has become a driver for precision oncology and enables clinicians to personalize treatment based on specific cancer biomarkers. Learn More

Hospital Economics of NGS

Outsourcing NGS cancer testing can be stressful for both clinicians and patients as long wait times to receive results can mean live or death. There are many benefits for hospitals to bring NGS technology in-house including faster test turnaround times, better care, reduced labor costs and more. Learn More

Is comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP)
the answer to everything ?

No, one size does not fit all. For example, let’s take non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) samples. All biomarkers relevant for clinical research can be tested by one, 50 gene targeted panel. It’s cheaper, faster, and it requires less sample input, which is critical in NSCLC, where “tissue is still an issue”. There are four key scenarios in which comprehensive genomic profiling
would be most impactful.
